Eco-Friendly Self Storage
We may be a small independent business, but we at Standby Self Storage have one eye on the environment.
Working had to be as eco-friendly as possible, with substantial choices and utilising available resources.
Things we do to ensure we are as eco-friendly as possible:
- Firstly, we use recycled road plains to create roadways at our facilities. This is essentially old Tar Mac which has been lifted off the road and then crushed it to small pieces. This will then be delivered to our site and compacted down to form a roadway.
- For the electricity supplier, we look for the highest level of renewable energy possible. We want to ensure that our storage location is as eco-friendly as possible.
- We use shipping containers which have been specced or modified especially for self-storage. Which are sometimes referred to as one trip or one-way containers? These are built-in China, filled with all kinds of stock of high and low value. Including iPhones, washing machines, sofas, floor tiles and much more. These are bound to the United Kingdom. On arrival, the stock is removed and the container is delivered to us ready to use. We use one trip/one-way containers as after some time at sea, the containers can get bashed about and get damaged. Most especially with loading and unloading containers. For us, it is important for the container to be immaculate. They should be on a high standard condition, as this will ensure to exceed our customer’s expectations.
- Last but not the least, we are always looking for new financially viable ways to make our facilities more environmentally friendly.
